Applebee's is an excellent chain restaurant and sports bar their food is above-average and their service is excellent
We normally love Applebees. The bourbon street chicken and shrimp is one of our favorites. Our last 2 visits have been very disappointing. We got the 2 for 20 bourbon street chicken and shrimp. Two weeks ago the chicken was dry and overcooked. Tonight the pieces were much smaller than in the past with very small quantities of the sauteed onions and mushrooms. I am feeling like you've traded quantity and quality for a cheaper price. We are not feeling the need to go back.
There is a good selection of drinks, food, and entertainment. The staff is normally very friendly, and the food can be fairly good as well. On one occasion, I got food poisoning the day after eating a bad piece of chicken, I'm not certain it was the chicken but it had a bad taste and was very chewy. Other times, the food has been great, especially the wings which are some of the best I've had.
The food was good. The service was good. But the overhead music was too loud and very annoying. This makes it difficult to visit. We talked to the management and they simply said that corporate would not let them turn the music down. I guess a letter to corporate would be in order otherwise if the music stays that loud we will simply not go back.
Hostess was nice and waitress was great....however the cooks suck! I've been gong to Applebees for over 10 years and also worked at one for 4 years and i have never tasted such badly prepared food in my life. First time I ever sent food back twice and then asked that i not be charged because it was THAT bad. People can forgive bad service but they never forget badly prepared food. Considering the menu is the same at every Applebees, do your company a favor and hire cooks that follow the Applebee way!
