I was referred to Dr Bailey in the morning and they managed to get to me in the same day. There was a little bit of a wait, but as with all surgeons they are very busy. And with being busy usually means they have a poor bedside manner... Not the case, Dr Bailey and the attending Dr who was with him were super nice. They have this amazing way to make patients feel at ease. I honestly have no complaints. I have met with other surgions in the past in the Norfolk area and not only was he very short with me, he did not explain the surgery or the risk. I was having my gallbladder removed. He didn't even come in and see me after the surgery.
During a 3 hour fasting glucose test, I was told during the middle of the procedure that the technician FORGOT TO START her stopwatch—-making the entire procedure inaccurate. After missing an entire morning and afternoon of work, commuting 2 hours for this procedure and the procedure done incorrectly, I received zero apologies. In fact, 4 hours after the exam I mentioned to the technician that I was lightheaded (duh—8 months pregnant). No water was offered. Trying to walk out of the hospital—still dizzy and light headed, I had to ask THREE workers where the exit was and all I received were rude (left...down the hall...then a right, then a right, then a left). Visibly exhausted and pregnant, the hospital staff clearly showed no interest in my well being. Fast forward to later that day, I called and expressed my concern for my experience and the procedure that was admittedly done incorrectly (an important procedure by the way regarding the health of my pregnancy). I was promised a call back and never got one. An email later and 6 phone calls over the course of 2 months I finally received a phone call back and was rudely told nothing was going to be done about the charges. I was responsible for the entire charges for a procedure that was done INCORRECTLY! As a healthcare provider myself, I’m well aware of malpractice and I urge all my loved ones and the dear patients I care about that I cannot recommend this place. I’ve since been receiving prenatal care at Columbus Community Hospital and it has been an amazing experience.
Thank you for getting me in on such short notice and for taking the time to do the research needed to figure out what's going on with my foot.
RUDE ER Nursing Supervisor. ABSOLUTELY NO customer service skills. I asked if they could possibly deal with an abscess on a jaw or if there was an emergency dental office available to the public in Norfolk. She did not listen to my question and kept saying that she could not give medical advice. I said that I did not want her advice. I just wanted to know if they could see my brother. She then repeated the fact that she could not give medical advice. I called the RN working in ER...she YELLED the same thing at me. She was loud and would not even let me finish my sentence. Seriously, this is how staff treats people? I will take my business elsewhere.
You Both are Rock Stars;
I noticed a few patients getting upset in the waiting room because they were having to wait a little longer than normal. But one thing most people do not understand about specialist is they are a specialist for a reason, and any "GREAT" one will take the time needed with each patient. I feel that I got the best treatment from Dr, Bailey. I am sorry that I can not remember his attending who was with him. Because he was awesome to.
